The Coppa Reunion in New Jersey 2004

Hello and welcome to the Coppa Family Reunion web site !!!

This site is dedicated to the Coppa Family Reunion scheduled for 2004. We hope you enjoy visiting us often.

NOVEMBER 2003
Hello Coppa Family

Hope to find all well. I suppose you've been waiting and wondering about our 2004 Family Reunion information. It took some time to put things together and here is hopefully enough to get you all going (or coming).

Due to information passed on to me by family members, I have planned the event for June 26, 2004. This not only allows those of us who have church commitments to keep them and still come; it is also a cheaper time to be at the shore not to mention a bit cooler weather than mid-July. With all that said, let me launch into the "goodies".

First and foremost I'd like to recommend coming to New Jersey for the week if you can for the sheer fun of it. There is everything you could possibly want to do here (summer related) than most places. We have the beach, the mountains and everything in between. For those of you with computers we have a website dedicated to the reunion. It's located at www. Coppafamilyreunion.com. You should find most or all of what you need as far as accommodations, day trips, entertainment (golf/boardwalk/shopping/amusement parks/ Beaches/boating/parks/tourism/etc.).

We have planned a dinner cruise for your Friday dining pleasure. On your computer the web site for the boat is: www.weddingsnj.com and the boats are River Belle and River Queen. The cost is approx. $35 per person (children also). This includes a 3 hour cruise of the River/Inlet and "All you can eat" buffet, open bar and best of all - THE WHOLE BOAT IS OURS!! It's a 2 tier paddle boat and very relaxing. This is not something you would feel sea-sick on - it's big and slow. If you would like to sign up for this, return the tear off with your family deposit.

Any questions - call Donna Coppa.

The area we will be focused on is the Monmouth County - Shark River State Park - located on Schoolhouse Rd., Neptune. It is just south of Route 33. Surrounding the area are Routes 18, Garden State Parkway and Route 34. This is the park our picnic will be held in. There is fishing at the park (big pond) but you'll need to get a day license. There's a playground for the children, a fitness trail, hiking trails, horseshoes and shuffleboard and a partially enclosed building for our picnic. The fee for our catered picnic is $15.00 adults and $10.00 for children (10 and under) 3 and under free. This is also all inclusive. Please use the tear off and mail back with the full amount for the picnic to the address for Donna Coppa.

Anyone up for a Charter Fishing Trip? John Coppa will be running a fishing trip for all those interested. The price to go is unknown until an actual head count is taken; price should not exceed $35.00. John will need to know your interest by April 30. He can then contact everyone with the exact details. Send the tear off to John Coppa at the address on the tear off or for further questions/information call him at: (until November 27th) 732-297-4333 and at 727-862-7530 after December 1, 2003.

Here's a short list of the things available to do in our general area:

    Atlantic City (shows/casinos/shops)
New York City (Statue of Liberty/shows/plays/operas/shopping/Rockefeller Ctr. /Empire State Bldg./Museums Zoo's/Ball games)
    Philadelphia (similar attractions to NYC)
6 flags Great Adventure (amusement park); Allaire State Park (train ride, Historical village)
too many golf courses to list
    Para-sailing
    power boat rides
    Sight-seeing
    cruises/Charter fishing/crabbing/claming
    Small airports/airplane rides/sky diving/helicopter ride
Many State Parks for bicycling/hiking/fishing/horseback riding
NJ State Aquarium (rough town) or Jenkinson's Aquarium on boardwalk at beach
Englishtown Raceway Park or Wall Stadium for you car enthusiasts
Minor league baseball in Lakewood or Trenton (easier to get tickets than Yankees or Mets.) Freehold Raceway (horse track) Horse Park of NJ.
Jackson Outlets for all you shoppers that just can't get enough
Barnegat /Sandy Hook and Cape May Lighthouses and a few in between

If we've missed something you were looking to do - I'm sure it's here in NJ.

If you're planning to stay the week or ½ week or 2 weeks or if you're planning on moving here, the Point Pleasant area or close proximity is very nice and centrally located. If you look into the Ocean Grove accommodations -it's a Christian Community - but the next town over is Asbury Park and not very nice (stay away). Belmar and Spring Lake are both very quaint and family oriented, but could be a little pricey. If you have any questions about accommodations - don't hesitate to call me. (Or E-mail) Donna.

I hope I've convinced you all what a wonderful place New Jersey is. For all who are not computerized, please drop me a line/letter as to your needs and I will ship you out brochures/maps etc. Those of you, who are computerized, please contact us and each other through our new web site. Before I forget, please include your Coppa Family Reunion dues (attendees only) $3.00 /family. If you know of anyone who has moved or has not been on the mailing list - let us know so we can add them. Send dues to Donna Coppa.

Warm Regards,
